Kindness is Magic

Been are long day today before I knocked off just smiling to myself reminiscing todays event. We all have our fair share of things that life throws at us.....Today I needed to go to VC to pick up some quotes so I went to Cool Stuff and ask the ladies there to give a quote for 10 phones. Typical shops they will pass you from one person to the next so the ladies at the counter directed me to another person who would take the details and ensure the quote is sent. So to save us both the time I gave her my business card and ask her if she could send the details to the address on the card. She got the card looked at me and looked at the card and asked me who should she attention it to. I said attention it to the name on the card, but she kept on looking at me wanting me to explain further I presume she thought I was carrying around someone else's card so I looked at her gave her my biggest smile and whispered quietly to her that the person on the card is me. The shocked that came over ...

The Nativity Scene

This Christmas we decided not to buy another tree as we gave our last one away but we stumble upon this white tree at CPL Vision City and fell in love with it that we bought a white tree. This marks our first white from being green all this time. My daughter suggested that our tree has to have a nativity scene under it. We went looking every where to find one most shops have Snata Claus and his helpers and none about the birth of Jesus. It saddens me that we Centre so much on so many other things in life in Christmas and totally forget that Jesus Birth is the main reason for this festive season. We did find a beautiful lighted candle that now lights the bottom of our Christmas tree every evening. Take time this Christmas to reflect on all that Christ has done for you am sure you will be amazed at his goodness and grace over your lives. Have a blessed and safe festive season and God bless

Cooking in Clay Pot

My last trip to Lae in Late November I was presented with a clay pot from my big sister. It was nicely fashioned and just enough to cook meals for a family of 5 although mine is only two. I brought it back with me with much enthusiasm as I look forward to trying it out on my electric stove. A friend blessed me with some Morobe Bananas Which became the first lot of food to test the clay pot. With a clay pot you need to line the bottom of the pot with leaves big leafy aibika are ideal but you can use just about any greens you want. I also use pandan leaves as well. You line them at the bottom then you place your vegetables and protein use real coconut if you really want the feel and taste of local food cooked over the fire. Scape your coconut and milk it over the food cover with foil and put the lid on top. In no time you will have such wonderful aroma coming from the pot. It fires up really well and cooks once the pot is hot. Once the food is cooked remove from the hot plate and ser...

The Heart of Selling

I once taught a subject at Uni called "Salesmanship" I loved the course taught it to 2nd year Management Students, found time to incorporate practical aspects from the trade by bringing in guest lectures real field sales man to teach the course to the students.... When I stumble  across this article from James it made me smile...selling is an art but you need to do it from the heart...great article you sales people might want to take a read and hope it puts a smile on your face just like it did mine. BTW these were some of my students from that salesmanship class. (source: Palookaville by Seth) E ditor’s note:   James Altucher  is an investor, programmer, author, and several-times  entrepreneur . His latest book  is  “Choose Yourself!”   (foreword by Dick Costolo, CEO of Twitter). Follow James on Twitter  @jaltucher . I’ve never read a book on sales. They seemed corny. Like many people, I always looked down on the concept of “selling.” It see...

Good Old Fashion Postal Mail

I didn't know how much I miss writing or receiving letters. This experience sparked in me a passion to send a note of love and care to friends and family around the world. I guess this new covid normal had sparked up a whole new hobby which I would like to take up. The experience of receiving something in the mail box cannot be compared to receiving a personalise email. Everything from the note itself to the handwriting on the card the envelope everything involves a personal touch and means a lot to the receiver. Sharing with you all my experience and hope it touches you in some way as well to reach out to family and friends through letter writing. So today on my mentoring journey to meet my mentee I decided to check my box at VC. I found some magazines and a lovely anime envelop address to Sharina Paliou . I was quiet excited as hey you don’t receive personal mails anymore and this one was so personalize with her name hand written in capital letters and beautifully drawn pictur...

How to tackle Corona Virus with P91 Tablet

PNG is on high alert as WHO announces corona virus as a epidemic which is spreading around the world. I take time to encourage PNGeans to pray everyday for our people and for the nation as a whole. Pray also  for those who are overseas and infected with the virus pray for God's peace comfort and healing on them during this difficult moment. At home here in PNG we may not have the resources to tackle this demon as the Chinese president puts it but we have a God whose power can destroy this virus.  There is absolute nothing impossible for the God we serve. Take time to read Psalms 91 (coined P91 table) with your family and pray God's protection over them. For those of you who have relatives overseas don't forget to also uphold them in prayer. And above all pray for our nation that it will not enter PNG. Remember faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you cannot see. You can be certain that God will protect you and keep you and your family safe during ...

Tis… the Season to be a blessing

Have you ever asked yourself the question why do I celebrate Christmas? Christmas will come across to all of us with its own meaning and purpose. In the Christian world Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ. The greatest gift anyone could give to the human race was in the form of the son of God Jesus Christ. As the bible says God became man and came to the earth to live his life. So Christmas centers on giving. What can we give this Christmas? Do our children need more toys? Do we need more clothes? Or do I need that electric gadget for my kitchen? So many times we want to receive but are we willing to give? God gave his son to redeem us from sin and give us eternal life and that is the ultimate. Are we willing to give his son a place in our hearts this Christmas?  Friends and family make this season of Christmas a time to give not only gifts to those you love and care about but give to others. Bless those around you it may be a gift or it may be your ti...
