Local SME

So lately I have been so focused on helping SME in Papua New Guinea grow their business awareness. Many people whom I know family and friends are now venturing into their own start up's. This is a great opportunity to grow our economy, just think if we create small businesses these will help to keep money within the nation and create jobs for a lot of people. Many a times the people look to the government for help but we can become the answer to our own problems. Hence I believe that wherever you are placed in life and if you have the opportunity to assist a local SME do so as you are making someone else's life become better and at the same time helping to grow our economy no matter how small it is. One stone can create a ripple effect. So I will be publishing a series of write ups on a couple of people I know who are doing just that. My aim is to help them grow their business awareness in the market. This is my small help in assisting them in their journey of SME. So am askin...

APEC PNG

This week is very interesting here in Port Moresby as we are hosting the ever famous APEC Meeting consisting of 21 countries. The nation has been in preparation for this event 5 years ago when PM accepted the invitation to host the meeting. Well I am more interested in what the common everyday people in PNG think. I know there are mixed feelings but overall you can feel the excitement and the positive energy in the air. Some folks from outside Port Moresby have come up with their own theories that something bad will happen to the nation, others are wondering if APEC is the name of a person visiting PNG 😊. People in the nations capital are thankful for the roads and CCTV's put up by China Aid. All in All I am thankful for the Chinese Government for investing in PNG and really bringing a huge change to the city. This face change has given Port Moresby a real modern and contemporary look. There will always be negative sentiments from critics and skeptics and naysayers but hey am gr...

A day at the Koitaki Country Club (Sogeri)

Last week we spend a day up in beautiful Sogeri which is 34-45 mins drive out of Port Moresby. The road itself is a winding steep snake road that curves itself around the corners and slowly takes you to the top. It is definitely not for the faint hearted drivers. From the hash dry heated streets of Port Moresby to the cool mountain breeze of Sogeri it gives you a very refreshing feel and welcomes you to the beautiful Sogeri mountains. Nestle amongst the Sogeri hills down a beaten dirt track it will lead you to Koitaki Country Club. The country club is  a refreshing and nice get away from the city life. Set amongst the picturesque rolling green hills it is a sight to behold. Pay K50 and set up your tent anywhere in the field. Pay K5 for a bundle of fire wood and light a fire in the cool evenings whilst enjoying your cup of coffee/tea in the open sky.  Bring a book relax read breath in the fresh air and distress yourself. So if you come to Port Moresby and need a place to unw...

Easy Potatoe Bun

This weekend I decided to try out a recipe from my homemade recipe book. It’s called Easy Potatoe Bun. With an abundance of potatoes at the local market you can simply pick up a heap for K5 and bake a heathy batch of fresh hot buns. Still a work in progress for me since this is my first batch but we thoroughly enjoyed it with anchor butter. You can add cream or jam but I prefer mine with just good old anchor butter whilst bun is still hot.

Tamatama & Aibika (Local PNG Cuisine)

One of my hobbies is cooking authentic PNG cuisine so am starting a series of videos to show case our organically grown food bought at out local markets and used to create simple but exquisite dishes at home. We we use local Cassava (tapiok) and ripen plantain (green banana) to make a dish called tamatama from the Bougainville Region this was accompanied with red emperor fish bought at Koki fish market and one of our favorite local greens called aibika or Hibiscus spinach which is the scientific name to cook up a delicious and healthy meal.

Spiritual Prosperity

This month is financial prosperity month for me. hence I have spend the days mediating on the word of God. My desire is to understand God's perspective on prosperity and how to go about attaining it. Sadly I have watched a lot of Christians who have sprung up with material riches and only to loose them along the way. Most use the world's way of prosperity to attaint their riches. 3 John 2 Says Below I wish above all things that thou may prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospers. God links prosperity to our souls. The question I asked is how does my soul prosper? Prosperity of the soul comes from meditating on the word of God. If we want to prosper in God then we need to start spending quality time in God's word, as we spend time in his word the more we take on his mindset and outlook on issues that we face in life. Sadly that is one of the hardest things for most people as there are lots of other interest that takes up their time of being in the word. On top of ...

Faith

Since last week I have been spending a lot of time on mediating on faith. Faith is the foundation of our Christian faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. None of us have seen God but we have his word. Taking us from word to faith is most challenging for a lot of Christians. It is easy to read but to picture what the word says about your situation and your circumstances is quiet difficult as you see the natural and you need to believe the unseen. However no matter how hard it is to see the unseen I am more than confident that if you keep on believing and seeing yourself as how the word says eventually it will come to pass. It is the power of positive thinking and by far it is true that if you continue to believe the best for yourself and your situation eventually whatever you are thinking about and believing it will come to pass. So continue to believe the best in yourself, in the people around you choose to speak life choose to speak good things over yourself and others ...
