All-Time Bun and Bread Recipe

 





Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon yeast

  • ¼ cup oil (or olive oil for a healthier option)

  • ¼ cup sugar (brown sugar for a healthier option)

  • 1 egg

  • 250 ml warm water

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast: Dissolve the yeast in 250 ml of warm water. Cover and let it sit for 7–10 minutes until foamy.

  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and egg.

  3. Combine: After the yeast has activated, pour it into the bowl. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. Knead: Knead the dough for 5–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. First rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover and let it rest in a cool, dry place for 1 hour.

  6. Shape: After rising, divide and shape the dough into buns or a loaf.

  7. Second rise: Let the shaped dough rise for 30–60 minutes, depending on how much it expands.

  8. Bake: Preheat the oven to 180°C. Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
