As a christian, business owner how do we live our life as a christian and at the same time trade and do business in the community. Do we seperate God from what we do and conduct our business strictly seperated from our faith.
God is the greatest business man he incoporated business into the daily lives of the Isrealites. Today we hide God from our board rooms and put our faith away when it comes to professionalism. However I want to encourage christian Papua New Guineans to live life as a christian the same as you would in church and home and as how you would run your business.
What is the secret to over coming our daily challenges in business. I would say the first and formost challenge would be how do I generate revenue? How do I bring customers to buy my goods and services. How do I make money?
In my experiance the first thing is to take it to the Lord in Prayer. Before you react before you pick up your phone and speak to anyone take time to pray and when you pray listen to what God will say. Most times when we pray we do not take time to listen. Our human instinct always likes to take control and goes into action, searching out ways where money could be generated. But you need to calm down and just stay in prayer and in the word till you hear from God. First place to start is the bible, look up similar stories and scriptures that relate to your situation and allow the Lord to lead you.
Most times we expect God to show up and flick a finger and all our problems goes away however rarely does it happen that way. From my experiance the first thing God does is work on you. He starts sorting your inner heart, if you habour unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred, pride, proudness, anger, strive and negative things that easily distracts us from our faith. He leads you through the process and works with you to forgive and release people, situations and circumstances to bring your heart to a good place.
Once you dealt with all that then you stand at a good place to hear God speak to you about your situation. Whatever he tells you to do, do it. Trust him, and take that step of faith. There are so many stories in the bible of great faith examples but Abraham is my absolute favourite and Paul talks about his faith in Romans 4,
20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
He took God at his word and believed till he saw his promise come to pass. When you are waiting on God surround yourself with faith messages and faith videos and faith songs and keep believing and speaking what you want to see come to pass. God changed his name from Abram to "Abraham so that everytime they called his name they are saying "father of many nations" which is the meaning of the latter. That is one powerful way to affirm what you are belieivng for .
Donot make the mistake of praying about it and then shelf it away because you are too scare to beleive God for the amount he told you to believe or scared of what your family and friends would think if you tell them. Get your prayer partner your family together release your faith on what you believe and keep your mouth speaking what you believe. If people doubt you donot quit God is faithful he remains true to his promise.
The bible says God is faithful whatever he says he will do, I have so many testimonies of what God has done in my life and he has never never failed me. His word always comes out on top all the time. Know without a shadow of doubt that God will do it. God is more than capable to bless you, more than capable to bring to pass what you ask of him, his streets are made of gold and he is the greatest realtor he owns this uniververse. See him for who he is. There is no situation or circumstance too hard for him but you need to take him absolutely at his word and trust him till you see your answer manifest. Godbless and keep seeking God's mind on every matter in your business/SME. I leave you with this scripture from
1 Thessalonians 5:24New International Version
24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
Great piece Miriam.
