Tumeric Latte

Are you aware of the benefits of turmeric tea? Last Christmas I had a bad bout of inflamed tonsillitis. I could not speak or utter a word out of my mouth or swallow food without feeling pain at the base of throat. My big sister took one look at me and told me she knew just the remedy for me. In the evening she prepared this wonderful milk tea that taste so nice infused with lots of spice and soy milk. I woke up the next morning instantly healed of inflamed tonsillitis. So I asked her what was the remedy and she told me it was turmeric latte or milk tea. This weekend just for the heath benefits and because turmeric is in stock at Boroko Market and RH I bought a couple and decided to make the tea myself. My recipe is; 1 cup soy milk 3 cups water pour into small pot. Grate 1 turmeric root Grate 1 ginger root optional 1 Teaspoon of black paper 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional 1 Vanilla pod crushed optional I prefer raw ingredients but some people like to use process powder bought fr

Tips for succeeding as a successful woman

I know this question is a topic where woman don't openly come out and speak about here in PNG. Given we are a male dominated society and decisions are mainly driven and made by men. However there are pockets of women who are slowly rising and taking their place becoming GM and parliamentarian but still there needs to be more women coming out and owning their space I'd like to say "myworld.com". How do we as women empower each other and spur each other on to our destiny. So many times we live in fear of ourselves in fear of making someone better than us in fear of making decisions that will make us standout and offend another person's emotions. So at times we tend to suppress all of those emotions which makes us become timid, fearful and not confident in who we are. And when we see women who are confident and courageous and able to be in control of their lives instead of embracing them and appreciating them we then to shun and dislike them for doing just that. As t

Toana Dei & Meri Blouse

On April 28 1978, the government declared that Friday should be set aside as a national dress day.  Citizens were encourage to wear their cultural wear to work or school. The day was referred to as Toana day. The thinking behind that day was to encourage cultural embracement and initiate a national wear which in time will take on its style and become the national wear for contemporary PNG.  Toana is from the motuan language 3rd widely spoken language in PNG and it means a symbol or a sign. A fitting word to signify the day. I am taking up this space again to feature one piece of unique clothing that has come to make its mark in PNG known as the Meri Blouse.Little did they envisage what the meri blouse would become to PNG woman. And meri blouse was introduce by Missionaries to help cover bare breast woman in the colonial days. Highly criticise as shapeless and without form created to hide the beautiful curvy body of Melanesian woman meri blouse has stood its time and held it's head
