Servant Leadership (Now more than ever a way forward for PNG)

  What Kind of Leader Do We Want for Our Nation? Leadership is the ability of an individual or group to influence and guide others—whether in an organization, society, or team. Among the many leadership styles, servant leadership stands out as one that aligns closely with our Melanesian values and the example set by Jesus Christ. According to Stauffer and Maxwell (2020), servant leadership prioritizes the needs and well-being of others. In governance and public service, this means leaders who are committed to serving the people, putting their needs first, and fostering unity. Jesus exemplified servant leadership by living among the people, sharing their experiences, and empowering them to reach their full potential. This selfless approach is the kind of leadership our nation needs to rediscover.
